I love the animated series. It had life, humor, fun entertainment for all ages but the live action didn't have any of those qualities. I didn't care for any of the characters, they looked like they were reading lines and they had no personality. The only actor that was ok was probably Zuko and maybe his uncle but even their performances were mediocre at best. Even the simplest things like pronouncing the names, they get half of it wrong. I also don't like how east asian and native american actors were mostly in the background with very little dialogue. Native american actors didn't even speak at all and I find that ironic considering they show Inuit culture. The only lead minority actor who portrays Zuko is not really fairly represented either. Besides the stupid casting, some of the special effects didn't seem to fit. They look pretty, but they didn't look real and seemed too computer generated for a big budget film. For example, Perfect Storm movie's special effect looked real. The only thing I liked about this movie was that M. Night tried to adapt an animated story to live action, and there were some similar scenes with the cartoon, but I just don't like how he changed the lively tone from the animated series, to a dull and very boring family flick in the live action.

I agree, 3D viewing was pointless.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05116863623801491761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1975416078255909953.post-80708685830836939552010-07-17T21:08:50.407-04:002010-07-17T21:08:50.407-04:00Its nice to see a possitive review, but I was very...Its nice to see a possitive review, but I was very horrified and felt geniuely jipped after the 3D viewing. Like you said Sokka was very underdone, and the 3d explains the color drain, it was very depressing. I honestly found the movie pacing ok out of everything and the music extremely moving.

The name changing thing was a no no, and the underdone effects of earthbending was madding.

I'm going to get the dvd just to see the commentary, because this film needs explaination for some of the picks in it. Specifically why they pick m.Night as the director.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13104447500786651276noreply@blogger.com
