In this instance, we were among only a dozen or so, standing up (leaning, really) against the back wall of the first floor of seating, what is sometimes called the "orchestra" and in this theatre was called "the stalls." (I suspect standing or sitting in aisles would be a fire hazard, and probably against the law...) So, we didn't have seats, but it really wasn't an issue.
